Objectives:

1. Define intensive care unit (ICU) liberation and identify the objectives and benefits of using the ABCDEF bundle
2. Discuss the evidence regarding post-intensive care syndrome (PICS) and the impact ICU stays have on patients
3. Evaluate recent literature on strategies used to optimize care for ICU patients preparing to transition to lower levels of care
4. Develop a treatment plan to optimize pharmacotherapy for a patient transitioning out of the ICU
